Thanks and Goodbye!

[ Thursday, June 17, 2010 | 4 comments ]

I apologize for not posting much this week.  It has been a crazy and overwhelming week and a lot of things have been forgotten.

I have just found out that I am pregnant.  This will make four children in three years (the first two are twins).  I have very difficult pregnancies (extreme morning sickness for the entire pregnancy), and three 3 other children under three.

I am very overwhelmed, and simply don’t think I will be able to be a good mother to four young children and produce a quality blog.  Obviously, my responsibilities as a mother come first.  So, I have decided to set the blog aside for at least a few years and possibly much longer.

All the current content will be left here as is, so you will still be able (and more than welcome) to search the website and use the tips I've posted.  I simply won't be adding more content.

Thank you for all of your support, questions and contributions.  It has been a lot of fun.

If you are looking for another similar blog to follow, I would highly recommend Money Saving Mom.  Not only does she have an awesome blog, but she is a wonderful person.  She also has a lot of readers, so you get many tips from them (in the comments) as well.

Good luck!

Money Saving Tip: Think "Food", not "Grocery"

Think 'food' not 'grocery'
If you are trying to spend less on food, think of all the places you spend money on food. There are many more than just the grocery store. What about restaurants? Soda and candy machines? The popcorn counter at the theater? Fast food? Coffee? The bottle of water when buying gas? All such expenses add up. Make a list, then eliminate non-essentials.

Grocery Shopping Tools Tip: You Can Search Each List

Did you know that you can search each of the Grocery Shopping Tools?  This can be very useful when planning a shopping trip.

Search for items that you need that week, but are not on sale for a rock bottom price.  You can see if they are on sale at all and where they are the lease expensive.

If you don't find an item you need listed in the Current Deals list, but you must buy it that week, you can search the Coupon List for a coupon that will help lower your cost.

Searching is actually the only way I use the Price Book.  Remember to search by type of item.  There are no specific brands listed here.

How about you?  Are there any ways in which you have found it helpful to search the Grocery Shopping Tools?
