Did you know that you can buy gift cards at discounted prices?  Well, you can: at Plastic Jungle!

So, why is this so great?  Well, if you want to be successful at Frugalicious Shopping, you have to be able to stack deals.  You want to try and buy something when there are at least two or more discounts available.  This is especially important when buying bigger ticket items like cloyhing, electronics, or furniture.  So what exactly do I mean by "discounts?"  Here are some you may be familiar with:

1. Online Cash Back Shopping
2. Online Coupon codes
3. Online Free Shipping Codes
4. Printable Store Coupons

Buying discounted gift cards is just another way to "stack deals."  Let's say you bought a $100 gift card for just $85.  Then, you used that gift card to purchase $130 worth of merchandise that is on sale for $100.  That is $130 worth of merchandise for just $85!

Combine that with a coupon code/printable couopn, free shipping code, and/or online cash back and you have a Frugalicious deal!

So, whenever I see a great sale: especially if it is combined with a great coupon code or cash back, I quickly head over to Plastic Jungle to see if I can get a great gift card to go with the sale.

Often great sales, online codes, or high value cash back only lasts for a day or two.  You don't have enough time to go buy a gift card from Plastic Jungle and have it shipped to you. So, I also buy gift cards to stores I am sure I will shop at whenever the gift card is on sale for a great price.

Problem is, the good gift cards go FAST!  Well, Plastic Jungle has a great feature called "Notifications."  You pick a merchant (or a few merchants), a minimun discount, and the card face value you are looking for.  Then, they email you immediately whenever that card becomes available.

So, in my case, I sign up to receive notifications for grocery & drug stores, Costco, Target, Walmart, Payless, McDonalds, PF Changs, The Children's Place, Staples, & Ebay.

When these cards go on sale for a great price, I pick one up.  Then I use it at some point in the future, always in combination with a great sale and/or coupons, rebates, or cash back.  That way, I am always saving 10%-20% (which is the discount applied to most gift cards) in addition to any sale, discount or coupon being offered.
