What is Frugalicious Shopping?

Have you ever been behind someone in line at the grocery store, or seen someone on a talk show that spends $3 on $120 worth of groceries?
Do you wonder if it is really possible to do that? (YES!) Is it even legal? (YES!) Does it take an enormous amount of time? (NO!) Can it be done in areas other than groceries? (YES!) Can you learn to do it? (YES!)
The entire focus of Frugalicious is making it possible to everyone to get the things they love for less.
Two things make this possible:
- Deal Stacking
- Stockpiling
- Deal Stacking
There are many types of "deals" available for the various items we buy. A few examples would be sales, coupons and rebates. A large part of successful Frugalicious shopping is learning to "stack" or combine these deals for maximum savings. Take the following example:
Toothpaste:
- Deal #1: Sale price of $2 (regularly $3)
OR
- Deal #2: Coupon for $1 off toothpaste
OR
- Deal #3: Rebate of $3 when you buy three toothpastes
- Buy 3 toothpastes on sale for $2 or $6 total
- Use three $1 off coupons to bring your cost to $3 total.
- Get a $3 rebate to bring your cost to NOTHING!
- Stockpiling
Just because an item is on "sale," doesn't mean it is on sale for a great price. However, when an item does go on sale for its rock bottom price, stock up! Buy enough to last until the next rock bottom sale.
One or both of these two principles work for most everything we buy: Groceries, Clothing, Electronics, Furniture, Office Supplies etc.

fed him for today. Teach a man to fish;
and you have fed him for a lifetime”—Author unknown
